Vibration

Post by LeeRS6 » Wed Oct 31, 2018 2:18 pm

Having replaced my wheels with Vossens thinking that was the cause of a vibration, I can still feel a very slight vibration at slow and faster speeds, it doesn't get any worse when braking.

Anyone had anything else other than bent alloys and warped disc's?

Did you make sure the hubs and the face of the wheels were clean before fitting the wheels? Are you using any spacers? And photos of the car with the wheels please.

Yes running spacers and I cleaned the hubs with a wire brush and wire wool, I'm thinking I should pull the wheels off again and double check for any residue if it's not that I'm stuck with what to do next.

Not the best photo, not had time to get any good ones.

Only other thing that is rotating is the driveshafts if the vibration is felt at the front. Then there's the prop shaft as well. I've heard of some one else with vibration issues and turned out to be the drive shaft on the front. The centre mount on the prop shaft which is rubber is a bit pathetic and can fail.

Test with spacers off would be my next step - just to eliminate them.

Vibration from steering wheel? A long shot but engine mount issue maybe?
