MMI/MAP Update and Bose

Post by ab54666 » Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:02 pm

Has anyone done this?

Just got my firmware update and the 2019 maps, the very detailed instructions say there is a danger with BOSE that some users have had an issue which means a trip to the stealers or an expert to recode.

Before I embark I wonder if anyone had done the update?

Cheers

Did you have to pay for the maps?

Hi guys.

I only picked up my C7 yesterday. I am off to Audi tomorrow to try to get the car registered to me so I can do the various bits with myaudi, get a SIM car chucked in the old girl and give the Audi Connect stuff a try for a bit.

How are you getting the paid update above and do you have any idea how much the Audi Connect subscription costs? Thanks :).

P.S. I am on Nav. database version 8R0060884BK ECE 6.17.3
Current:

"Brutus"- C5 RS6 Avant - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats - Wagner ICs - PSS9 - H&R ARBs - OZ Superturismo LM - C6 Custom brakes - HD RNS-E - Various other bits - 555PS/832Nm

Gone:
"Taz"- C7 RS6 - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats, uprated fuel pumps, race plugs, 745PS/1095Nm
12' Cayenne Turbo, B7 RS4, S3, Cupra R, XJR, EVO VII, STI8,5,2&WRX, 106 GTI&XSI, other crap.

I don't pay any Audi subscription, just the cost of a data SIM card. I normally get an EE PAYG card off Amazon for £20 or so for 6 months (12GB; 2GB per month).

Cheers. I have a Tesco Mobile combo voice/data sim coming for the car, is there still not a subscription charge for the Audi Connect/Google earth integration etc? Have you been updating your maps and if so, how?

Sorry, I haven't had much chance to fully research this yet, have been concentrating on the owner's manual and tinkering thus far. Thanks.

Just don't get scammed as I did!! Sadly for me having both really wasn't a practical option. Still miss the old girl though.

See you around. :beerchug:

You too :). Yeah, I read about your mishap with those bastards.

I don't know if I can justify keeping both, I work from home 99% of the time and we now have 4 cars between the two of us.....
