Really low volume on phone calls

Post by Moonmonkey831 » Fri Aug 31, 2018 5:11 pm

Hi,

This has bugged me for a while, but does anyone else find that the audio volume on phone calls is really low? Both via Bluetooth and CarPlay methods. I have to crank the volume of the stereo upto maximum to hear the other person (they can hear me ok)? The phone call just seems to come out of the central dashboard speaker?

I’ve had a look at all types of volume inputs on the car and phone but everything seems to be set to high? Music and everything else volume is all good it’s just phone calls

Thanks

Mine's not like that, if anything i always have to turn it down so it must be faulty.

I'm sure it also comes out all the speakers but may be wrong.

Have you tired pairing another phone to test that?

Have to agree the volume is pants. Have to have it on max and even that doesn’t seem enough. Tried pairing various phones and it’s all the same

yeah I've tried several phones (both via bluetooth and direct connection) and the volume has to be ramped upto 48 (whatever the max is) to really have a proper conversation. I can just hear it coming out of the front dashboard speaker

I mean its livable but on my wifes tiguan its a million times better which doesn't feel right!

It’s ok on mine. I have noticed that both in call and music via Bluetooth the volume on the phone still applies, so you have to turn volume on the phone to full, then it’s fine out of the speakers (ie the volume feels right and matches the volume of the radio etc).

I know this may be a silly question but have you actually raised the volume on the handset itself while on a call?

Let me check next time I’m in the car and will let you know

Cheers!
