Terrible to hear.

When I sold my RS6 part of me was a little relieved that I would not have to keep such a vigil any longer.

I am sick to death of hearing about this type of stuff!

Several blokes dressed like ninjas were caught on my CCTV recently, gloved and balaclavad up and the only skin visible was their eyes. They were not successful with their attempt thankfully.

The Mrs was none too pleased and the police were polite but useless.

My old man told me to watch Thief Trackers on BBC1 yesterday, the last section of the program was dedicated to the stealing of high performance cars. I watched it on catch up last night, it's worth five minutes.

The car in question had a hidden dash cam that the thieves didn't know about which was their downfall. It recorded audio too and they aired a clip where the thief was handing the car over to his buyer a short while after being stolen. One guy asked the other 'do you prefer dragouts or burglaries' and the other responded and went on to say he would not hesitate in murdering the victim to succeed in the theft! Unbelievable!

North Yorkshire Police also issued a statement a couple of days ago that anyone with RS, M or AMG cars to keep them extra safe as they are being nicked more and more often.

I am not really a have a go hero but I have had my fair share of dust ups and i'm quite prepared to stand toe to toe but I think I would think twice now the way things are heading.

It’s very sad when you save up for a nice car , and have the worry of some scum bag breaking into your property to steal it.
Thing is , when they are caught , there’s no real punishment.

Seems like the Midlands is a high risk area. What are people using in terms of extra security? Seems like CCTV is a waste of time. Would you say car is safe in the garage?

Generally garage is safer but by no means a complete deterant. If its garaged and they want it they will jump you on the way in or out of the garage.
The best deterant is move out of the Midlands.
