Calling all RS6's with Stage 2 Maps

Post by h4rvsingh » Thu Aug 02, 2018 10:18 am

There seems to be mixed opinions amongst tuners on this but wanted to see who people have mapped their cars with and whether they had uprated high pressure fuel pumps fitted as part of the Stage 2 Package?

Mine (recently purchased) is running an MRC stage 2 map from around 4k miles (it's currently on 27k), it's on the original fuel pumps. On advice from MRC, i will likely upgrade both fuel pumps and coil pumps wthin the next 12mnths or so after it's been to Audi for it's annual service.

How much does it cost to upgrade the pumps? Personally for the extra tuning capability and I guess a certain level of peace of mind knowing the engine won’t be starved, i’d go for it when I go down the tuning route

MRC only just recently started mentioning this upgrade. Anyone that had a stage 2 a year or longer ago won't have had it done at the time.

I'll dig out the quote tomorrow, but I'm sure fuel pumps plus coil packs plus service was something like £2k (but don't hold me to that). I'll call it future-proofing. :)

Edited to detail quote: £2383 to include 2x high pressure fuel pumps, 8 coil packs, 8 spark plugs, oil, a 20k mile service, a health check and a dyno run. Includes VAT.

£2k is a fair wack!! RS tax is worse than GTR tax in some ways!

Ok must be a good reason for it then. I would rather spend a little to try prevent alot!

There was a post on here recently showing the impact of a poor spray pattern from injectors, and highlighting the risk this poses to the engine. My engineering background doesn't include the details of fuelling and combustion systems, but if the injector spray pattern is a cause of failure it would intuitively seem to me that ensuring adequate fuel flow and pressure to the system would be a wise precaution, as would uprated plugs and coils to make sure the combustion pattern is what is intended.

When mine goes for Stage 2 tuning next year I shall certainly listen carefully to Doug's advice - MRC know what they are doing!

Morning,

Can anyone please confirm if this is the correct uprated HPFP for the C7 RS6 https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-bran ... -2-5t-fsi/

Thanks!
