Engine failures

Post by Kaine19 » Thu Jul 26, 2018 4:42 pm

Was watching a video on YouTube which was posted around 6 months ago from ADS automotive. I believe they are based in Preston?

They had 2 RS6 in for engine failure and they had also been sent a set of injectors from another RS6 which was at another specialist in harrogate.

I cant say ive read much on engine failures, is there a rise of this or just the 3 unlucky ones in the video. When i get my 6 i will want audi warranty anyways, so i shouldnt be too concerned but its still something i wouldnt want

One of those vehicles resulted in probably the longest thread we've had on here. It was 'tuned'.
Sepang Blue B8 RS4, MY14, All option packs, B&O, Adv Key, Adapt Cruise, Pan Roof, Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust, + more.
Previous - Sprint Blue B7 RS4 Avant, Ceramics, Sunroof, SS+, Buckets, FBSW, Bluetooth, 2010+ RNSe
Previous - Phantom Black B7 RS4 Avant, Black Optics, Titan pack, SS+, Buckets, FBSW

I was one of the engine failures but fortunately had Audi warranty but even more important I hadn’t mapped the car. Warranty claim was over £40k

Just took me all day and night reading your thread haha. It seems mapping isnt a great idea on these cars. Dont seem to hold well like the previous 6 or other models like my s3. Rs3 etc

Actually you are wrong by saying that mapping isn’t good idea on those c7 rs6 engines, it can be mapped easy without anything to 700hp just ecu remap, as we all know this engine has big potential and easy tuning

Never said it wasnt easy. I know they are a tunable engine. What i was saying is that it seems a fair few mapped cars are having problems. Although i know you generally only hear of the bad stories over the good

This is the first car I’ve not mapped. It was actually booked in at MRC but I had to cancel due to work then a week later it went pop. So pure luck. My previous C5 and C6 were both mappedby MTM and no problems at all.

Piggyback systems do more harm than normal ecu remap, all these piggyback boxes waste of money

I might be wrong but I think the piggy back box was only for the C7. My C5 and C6 were both Ecuador’s re maps without any problems
