Mapped mine after warranty expired, has 680 HP on Shell with all stock but air filter. Changes the car imho, still very driveable but proper fast now. Surges a bit under full throttle but can live with that.
Hi drhex,

Can you allaborate on surges a bit? I figured the biggest benifit would being rather than maxing the throttle it's there in dynamic constantly which is what I found with 911, easier to access so to speak.. And just ironed out any flat spots with some tiny lags possibly . Only thing I miss is duel clutch PDK which was a great bit of kit not that the RS trasmission is lacking any .

Stage one, are we still saying PCV & pipes change out surely not on ST1?

Stage 1 - is anyone updating coils and sparks for the 680bhp (approx) ?

The way I'm seeing this is for the risk reward as 560/600 is still more than enough, I'm stil yet to see anyone really come on this topic and say the remap is the best thing they ever did , on certain cars Especially oil burners it's a no brainer, with the C7 it's just a little bit of a figure on paper adding the bragging right with it, the huge issue is Audi UK leaving you in a darkened room forever when they see it . This is what I'm taking from this thread personally, dispite some Incredible re map videos online !

Hello mate,

Firstly your warranty is void . A big issue should you need it for many of the huge costs that are associated with main components failing when like mine it's got 18m on it.

Also, even outside warranty legally with any product when you buy your RS6 .. Etc. you have a pool of legal rights as a consumer (UK laws for this post) that can be called upon that aren't advertised by manufacturers (ex Range Rover customer here! I've been there) it's a list of sensible/reasonable requirments that comes with that product even if your warranty is out should you legally pursue a issue eg. Not fit for purpose, or failed component that is expected to last a lot longer, electronic equipment ECU etc . where Audi ,will if not cover but after a stern letter from a solicitor will certainly now look at making good contributions towards. If found to have been tampered with from factory it's a get out of jail free for them exonerating them from any official or legal requirment on there product .

So certainly a issue if your up shi@ street with your car one day, and the manufacturer should make contribution you've given them a pass as you no longer have the product provided.

You’ll find that Chunk is referring to “being left in a darkened room”. He doesn’t see a problem with that. That’s unless he’s with his Mum and bam_bam is still attached to her in the darkened room.

My point being, you modify your car in any way then you take what's coming to you, therefore, no issue imo. As soon as you modify anything you're basically on your own, pretty basic really.

I don't think you've have actually pushed a point mate. And the suggestion of if you mod your motor as in #anything having the same legal impact as a map isnt sensible . Let's face it changing your air filter and getting new rims, coding your car, exhaust systems don't void or effect anything of what I said above . So we will just agree to disagree

I'd be interested in hearing your argument with a stealer if you replaced your airfilters with aftermarket and you then had an engine Issue.
Manufacturers will get out of paying warranty anyway they can, I work in the industry so know how it works.

Anyhoo, have you made a decision on what you're going to do yet? Would you be using DMS in the Midlands? I've only seen the shutters up there once.

Easy Chunk, My dealers would loose a lot of money if they threw my warranty out over a £80 filter mate . They would speedily do as there told!

Ok I hear you, basically I'm being a absolute fanny at the moment and bottled it, I'm not going to lie its the classic the head and the heart battle ! DMS I'd use there standard rs6 map they would come to me, used Dms before great to deal with and the results they have given me before have been very good! They've even said they would map the gear box as well on this for me (not really needed)? Just I'm not quite over the line on that binned warranty mate .
