Forge Charge Cooler

Post by DXB_RS6 » Wed Jul 11, 2018 6:54 am

Has anyone installed or had/has experience with a Forge Charge Cooler on an RS6 C7?

I'm running the following:

2014
RS6
Full Akrapovic Evolution Titanium Exhaust System
De-Cat
Aquamist Meth system
MRC Stage 2 tune
Last Dyno displayed: 780hp and 850 Torque.

Its getting quite hot in Dubai now and although the water Meth system is working a treat, I thought every little helps..

In the past I've heard good and bad reviews about the forge Charge Cooler so thought I'd put it back out for updates..?

Love to hear your thoughts on this.

Dubai heat really is something else! What do the locals do? I know there are a lot of GTR tuners there, should be capable of helping you figure something out for your car too?

Yeah its getting seriously hot now. The car is surving and doing well with the Aquamist system..

Update: I purchased the Forge Charge Cooler and it will. Be installed by tomorrow.

I also commissioned a local Audi garage to take the car for a good run and take all the logs displaying key data related to the temperatures etc.

Once installed, I will take the car back to the garage and run the same tests again and take the logs for comparison.

Should be interesting to finally get some real data on this system instead of all the assumptions I'm reading online.

For what it is worth (relatively still new so not many reviews or info on it)....but sillyrabbitmotorsport (hardware developer in the US) developed a new charge cooler core aka stage 1 and additionally a bigger pump for it aka stage 2. Just so we are understanding each other, sillyrabbits charge cooler core is the little cooler just after the throttle body so not the forge heat exchanger way up front big radiator cooler (that apperently doesn't do much on the RS from what i read).
You might want to consider cancelling the Forge and first try contact sillyrabbit.
Don't quote me, but tought +-990$ stage 1, 2000$ stage 2. Like said, not much info around yet but it is availible and apperently good results and i kinda believe it as that is bit the heat bottleneck on the 4.0TT platform!

I recall MRC plus others trying the Forge and not getting good results. MRC are developing their own now. The Russians are creating cars with 1200 and 1400 bhp so must have the intercooler sussed.

Yes, I recall the same. I purchased it back in January but never installed it until now.. Let's see what the before and after numbers show once it's installed, should be interesting.

DXB_RS6, how did you go with this in the end. Was thinking of getting the Forge Motorsport Charge Cooler but not sure anymore . . .

What about interchilling ?

Not sure if they have it where you live, but I live in Australia and its used in the local v8 scene...

Uses chilled air from your aircon with apparently great results.

I've not got a rs6 yet (but am looking), but have a apr 1740 supercharger s5 v8, so was looking for this for my car for Aussie summer.
