Yeah, you do not want to get caught speeding. I've only had a small ish 90EUR fine.

They will target UK cars, and they have been known to check the manifesto of vehicles crossing the pond.

They'll have your car off you if you're really obscene.

I think the OP got off lightly.

138mph would be jail time here in the UK?

Agree. Would have been worse here in UK. £600 fine and 3 month ban (in France) ? He was lucky.

Something else you might want to think about, depending on the Nav option you have, is getting a pre-paid SIM card that covers the whole of Europe. I always have a card from 3 as it covers pretty much the whole of Europe and you get 12 months to use up the data. WiFi in the car for my kids was a godsend, plus you get all the maps and other stuff updated.

Also, if buying a GB plate Sticker, don't get a magnetic one, the boot is aluminium

I use CAMSAM Plus speed camera detector by Blitzer.de, it's fab.
I'd highly recommend getting a toll tag. It saves time and agro with the wife having to use your card to pay the toll.

It wasn't the OP that did 138mph.

2014 PF, is there a function on the MMI which will convert the lights when abroad? Not seen it on any of the settings?

I'm fairly sure you can manually change it in the MMI but I am positive it changes automatically when you start driving in countries that drive on the right (sat nav knows what country you are in).

OK, Thank you. I'll try and find it in the handbook later.
What do people do for a spare bulb kit? Almost seems pretty pointless to me, surely the bulb kits you pick up from Halfords ect wont cover much of what is on these cars?

Facelift doesn't have any bulbs. Prefacelift depends if you have xenons or leds.
