Rarely used spec ??

Post by skirs6 » Sat May 05, 2018 10:29 am

Many on here have owned their cars for a good few years now. How many of you would spec a new car the same or maybe drop certain items. The bits on mine I have never used or rarely use are .

Cruise. Never
Pan roof. Never
Night vision. Never
Park assist. Never
Brake assist. “ why ??? “
HUD. Seemed cool but rarely look at it plus very plastic fit which often creeks

I wonder how much this lot would save in £££ ??

50% with you on that one-used my HUD, pano (when weather allowed) and adaptive cruise regularly in my old C7. The rest yes all seem pointless. One feature I would steer away from is soft close doors-you spend your life telling people not to slam your doors....who then promptly slam them. Waste of money imo

Cruise -assume you mean adaptive? If so, disagree, If you do a lot of motorway miles it makes the journey a million times better, especially the newer ones that go down to 0 and restart. That said, if no motorway, agree.

Pan, agree

Night, agree

Park, agree

Brake, disagree, might save your life one day

Hud, agree

Savings, yeah.

Yup I might add soft close 🤔 However I like them but agree even when you tell people they still slam them. One thing I really miss from my previous 6 is keyless entry👍

I love adoptive cruise and use it a lot. Single lane carriageway with 50 mph flowing traffic, or stop start traffic and especially in average speed camera motorway sections.

I used the parking thing the first day I got it but it takes so long it makes it unusable. However I'd still spec it again fornthe 360 degree camera.

Used the adaptive cruise all the time but it didn’t stop me hitting that Range Rover when the system failed on the m25

I have the 360 camera...what's this whole parking deal?
If you get the camera do you automatically get it?
If you do I didn't even know I have it or how to use it haha.

Not sure about pre facelift but in facelift cars the only way to get the 360 degree camera was to spec the parking pack advanced or whatever it was called. This included the auto parking for parallel parking or reversing into a car park space. If you have it there is a button next to the parking sensor button on the dash to turn it on.
