Precisely the reason why i am asking on here bud, as i don't know much about remaps as I've said and i wasn't aware of MRC and had heard of Litchfield over and over hence my suggestion about them etc ...
You've come to the right place to ask the right questions! Hopefully you'll listen to the advice above but at the end of the day it's your car and your choice.

Hi, I have an MRC tuned Audi S8. Similair engine to the RS6.

Yes, they are more expensive, however, the time on the rollers alone is enough to warrant the extra cost.
Doug must have done around 10 runs in mine and fine tuned it perfectly.
The gearbox feels like it has been tuned (Maybe placebo) but the rev limit has definitely increased when warm to 7k from 6300.
The way the power/ torque is now delivered has transformed the car.
Few cars have a chance at the traffic light grand prix, and mid range is enough to stick with the best of them.

Almost a 150ps gain.

MRC will only Map if you fit high flow air filters ( I went for BMC) and racing sparks (NGK 4905’s) which either MRC can fit or you can done locally as I did. - And a full tank of V-power or equivalent. (Maps are Octane sensitive)

These engines are very reliable if tuned correctly, however from what i have read very unforgiving if not.

Hope this helps and and good luck

So you had the litchfield done? And it didn’t work well.... right ok that’s the kind of stuff I wanted to hear....

What about MRC? Had the stage 1 there?

Hi fella

My Litchfield Stage “2” was on car when I bought it so had little to compare againest.

However I sold that car and got a 2016 PE RS6....although currently not mapped makes the delievery and feel of the Litchfield map feel <beep> IMO.

Only car I had a MRC map on was my C6 RS6....was awesome.

Don’t forget...MRC audi tuner of the year for 11 years!!

Litchfield should stick to Datsuns.

I have heard good things about DMS but not many people run their maps on C7 that I’m away of.

Litchfield remap.... stage 1... experience?knowledge?

Correct. But it does also alter operating parameters which are also recorded. So to say that no one could detect is incorrect.

There is a reason why there is a 3 week wait.

Booked in at MRC for stage 2 now. Just wondering if the 2 x HPFPs I’ve been quoted for are really necessary?

How much extra power will they be able to justify from the map?

I appreciate it may not be a direct HP increase, more of a reliability of supply of power, but it ain’t gonna be cheap to have them fitted, and I’ve not seen much mention of them by others who have had the stage 2, downpipes and exhaust route done.

Never heard of anyone upgrade the HPFP on the C7. I know it's a common mod on some of the smaller VAG engined cars, normally upgrading to an RS6 or RS4 type pump. Never been mentioned as a reason for restricting power.
Normally a stage 1 MRC map will get you around 700 - 710ps. Stage 2 depending on downpipes etc will see around 730-750ps.
