Litchfield remap.... stage 1... experience?knowledge?

Post by Singhaa88 » Tue Apr 10, 2018 6:34 am

Morning all...

So I’ve been thinking about buying an Eventuri carbon intake, supposedly giving me 20 extra wheel HP and some more torque but carries a £2k pricetag which is ridiculous...

I’ve never done a remap and always been very wary of them, so I’ve been looking at Litchfield this morning as I know them (heard about them a lot) as a brand and notice their stage 1 is only £600 and gives me 120 extra BHP.. amazing value for money!!

Anyone got this particular remap? Anyone got an Audi warranty and they’ve kicked off because they’ve found the remap? Did they void it?

I’ve heard that dealers will wipe the remap when servicing etc, so you have to have it re-done after is that right?

Thanks in advance

MRC if your going for a remap ( not implying Litchfield
are not good ) .More expensive yes , but that's where my money would go IF i decided to remap a C7 Rs6 .. Regarding warranty there was a post on here a while back and Audi washed their hands of the engine failure because of a suspected remap ( don't know who the tuner was ). So in short you take your chances .

Well looking at it subjectively (all i can do as never heard of MRC)... they are double the price practically for the same gains, and i have to go stage 2 with them where-as Litchfield is a stage 1...

To me, that would certainly suggest that Litchfield is the better value for money-wise option... but like i say i don't have much knowledge of this area so to speak, but looking at it from one vs the other, it suggests Litchfield is a better option unless I'm missing something?

Remap = no warranty

If someone tells you that they can remove any trace of the map in case of an issue they are lying. Audi can find out anything they want on your car - no hiding from them.

Litchfield have only recently started mapping Audi’s, MRC been at it for over 10 years!

I've spoken to both companies this morning, some of you may be surprised to hear that Litchfield are doing stage 1 re-maps on Audi's 3 times a week and RS6's are there biggest clients after the Skyline stuff which is 85% of their business... Also, they have said that they do edit the map slightly to cater to each car, but use their custom map as a base. DYNO time is at a added cost..

MRC Tuning, gave me some level of comfort by saying they dyno the car first to see what the crack is and then map accordingly to that which makes sense & im sure (going to double check) that air intakes come in the price of £1000 as well.. MRC seem to think i can get 650/670 out of my RS6 with a stage 1, but with the Milltek i'm getting later this week i should be slightly over that hopefully if i go that way..

MRC also said that they hold the stock ECU on file, if i ever need to reflash it onto my car.

Keen to get existing users of Stage 1 from Litchfied or MRC feedback

MRC are the Audi RS gurus and win awards year after year. Have a look through this forum if in any doubt. Make no mistake about it, the Litchfield remap and an MRC remap are not equal.

A friend of mine had a Litchfield tune on his RS6 when he bought it. He took it back to them for more work and was singing their praises, he thought they were the best. Then he took it to MRC and realised how much better MRC are.

For some reason a lot of people with RS6s and not much knowledge of RS tuning all go to Litchfield cos they think they are the best. This is not the case and those who know go to MRC.

Precisely the reason why i am asking on here bud, as i don't know much about remaps as I've said and i wasn't aware of MRC and had heard of Litchfield over and over hence my suggestion about them etc ...

ABT piggyback leaves no trace, when you go to Audi dealers you can remove it or put in stock mode (valet mode) and no traces)

I wouldn’t let Litchfield tune a guitar.

I had a stage two Litchfield map....all stage two means is you get a Milltek!!

Milltek alone without down pipes does nothing power wise apart from noise.

Lumpy tick over when cold.
Sometimes triggering EML light.
Flat bottom end torque.....yes Litchfield....I’ve had it.

The same company that fitted a RS6 owners dowmpipe sensors incorrectly too.....

MRC all day!!
