Morning
Has anyone managed to update the MMI firmware to allow FLAC (and other lossless) files to be played?
Thanks

What year car do you have? My MY2016 played FLAC from the factory.

I'd be amazed if you could swap the RS3 unit into the RS6, I thought they were completely different.
You can retrofit the later unit I think but I don't think it's cheap. Also the facelift cars changed to a different bus system (went from MOST50 to MOST150 so not sure you can even fit a facelift unit in a non facelift cars.

All I want is to be able to play FLAC. Surely there must be a firmware update...!!

Try giving HazzyDayz a call. he should know if there is a firmware update that will sort you out.

It may be worth a scroll through the software license page on the MMI Setup page. I stumbled across it the other day and found Gracenote and other plug in licenses, including Flac playback. It be that you do have it and possibly the encoding settings you use can’t be read by the open license plug in.
