Would you not be better off keeping it until you sell then put it back to OEM. Standard sports exhausts are worth very little may be £100. Out of interest which Milltek option did you go for ??

You are right. Problem is I have nowhere to store it! I shall see if I can get a mate to look after it though.

I went for the Road+ and the valve control module.
I’ve only driven it 1 mile, so have no idea what it’s like yet, although as I think you found out, it is quieter than I expected, but I think it should turn out to be right for me. I did tell myself not to go mental this time. But it does make me miss my RS4!

Hi,
Do you need to remap the car folowing the miltek install or is it just plug and play?

Remap is needed when you install cattles Downpipes and Miltek catback, I would consider installing only none resonated version of Miltek, otherwise its waste of money ordering Miltek resonated version

Hi Tadass910,
I have to admit the Non Resonated Miltek sounds great, my only fear is it will be too loud (boomy) on the motorway. Do you have experience of the Non res system? Does anyone know if you could add the valve control module to control when you want it loud or not? After reading lots of infor on this forim I think the Akrapovic is beginning to sound like alot of money for some nice sound.

The Akrapovic exhaust is expensive but it does sound awesome and there is no drone when on the motorway. It really adds to the character of the car. Not heard the Milltek options to compare though.

So having done 4 hours on the motorway today I can say I’m pretty happy with my Road+ version. It’s not the non-res, but the half way house option.
There is only a small amount of audible drone and exactly 1,900 rpm and closing the valves removes it completely. There is drone too when it drops in to 4 cyl mode - definitely more exhaust noise when it switches in; but again having the valves closed stops it (and this is only because I have the cete/Milltek valve control module).

I’ve had the road plus on a week now from the non res. At first I thought far too quiet but I think it’s probably right for all occasions. The non res is just a bit too much when you want to take the family out. If I had the money I would give the Akra a go

Milltek non res cat back. Drones at 120 mph terribly. Pretty annoying really at those speeds. but ca in uk 90% of time means it ok because then i never drive over 70mph 😬. And why does it squeak?? Its bugging me now. Do i need to put audi valves back on it as they never squeaked on the oem sports exhaust but millteks spund like a ruddy squirrel being strangled in s mode !!

Just install the valve control module then they stay mostly open or closed! ;)

All Miltek exhaust has valve control system, when you want valves to close use comfort mode, when you want valves always open use dynamic simple as that)

yes, indeed, but only with the valve control module, which is a separate product. Just installing a milltek exhaust will give you the OEM valve opening behaviour - like valves always open on cold start, opening at 3krpm in sport and 5krpm in comfort etc. For 100% open or 100% closed (up to 5krpm) even in cold start etc, you need the optional module (it’s the Cete module).
