Milltek Road+ catback

Post by bn8959 » Mon Apr 02, 2018 9:33 pm

Hi
Anyone have any experience of the Road+ variety of Milltek catback?
Very tempted and thinking this might be a good option for me.
Had a B7 RS4 with a non-res, non-valve Milltek previously and it was just epic and I don’t think can be beaten.
This time round though, looking for something that can be tamed a little bit more (valves will mostly achieve that), but I’ve not heard any of the 3 options on a C7 (res, road+,non-res) so not sure what to opt for.

And any suggestions on the cheapest place to buy one? I have a friendly indie that can fit.

Will have a spare OEM sports exhaust soon too, if anyone might be interested?
Cheers.

Have you considered other options rather than an off the shelf system?

Check out Stuart’s work at fourie fabrications he was mrc’s fabricator.

I’m getting this system fitted next week .... wasn’t aware they did a road plus system, was always aware of resonated or non resonated then a garage I trust for work suggested the road plus being the happy medium so I’ve ordered one and as I say due for fitting next Thursday I believe

@RS4LAD, I was mainly going with what I knew (from my RS4 days).
I have thought about res-deletes etc. But I’ve not heard any to compare with.
Disappearing off round the country for a day or two is tricky at the moment, due to work and family. But my car needs and oil change, so thought I might sneak in a cheeky Milltek fitting at the same time (have a small local just down the road that fitted my previous one for £50!).

@Singhaa88 - really interested to hear how you get on!

I’ve just had a non res Milltek fitted but I find it just a bit too much. I was also unaware of the road plus option as I only ever knew res and non res. Hopefully being fitted next week. Will give you an update once fitted.
This will be my 10th Milltek option 😫😫😫

Go for Miltek none resonated version, worth every penny, especially very nice sound when using with stock Downpipes

Mine too! (Friday)
Ordered a Milltek active valve control module too.
Hoping I can maintain a similar level of ‘calm’ to OEM sports in comfort mode when I’m with the family! :)

Same at the Cete one (it’s the same module). Changes the valve behaviour.

Comfort - valves closed up until 5k rpm (even on cold start)
Auto - no effect
Dynamic - valves open all the time

You can also double press the ESP button to override in any mode and force valves closed or open.

Well if buy only none resonated, resonated version is waste of money

I’m now in a dilemma as apparently Milltek have postponed the fabrication of the Road+ resonator section until next week, so I’m going to have to wait... but they do have non-res centre sections in stock, so I could have it tomorrow.... humm.

I’ve not heard either so hard to choose. Had a non-res, non-valve on my RS4 and it was epic. But I’m a bit older and wiser now (meaning I have a family and 2 small girls), so need something that can be quiet when the family are in the car. Hence my choice of the Road+ and valve control.

The non-resonated has valves still so can be quiet when you want it to be.
