Depending on your location speak to this guy first, nothing he doesn't know, can fully recommend Marcus.

You sure they are warped and not just feel like they are warped due to pad deposits left on the disc?

In my experience pad deposit couldn't be felt when really braking hard or really gently, only with medium pressure and would come and go, sometimes I'd forget it was there. But when I had warped discs on a different car I could feel it at all speeds and braking pressures. The faster I was going the worse it got and when braking from motorway speeds it felt like the car was going to shake to pieces.
Pad deposits can sometimes be cleared by giving doing some good heavy braking. The deposits generally appear from the brakes not being used very hard. So if you've set the discs on fire doing a few laps of the Ring then quite likely they are warped rather than pad deposits, but if you've only been using them gently then pad deposits are more likely.

I would go with new discs. You will get conflicting advice about how to treat the new set up but I break them in gently as if it were a new car rather than go for the more aggressive bedding in process some advise. Now over 30k on mine (changed rears and fronts) and smooth as silk since new. Most important thing is not to sit on the brakes when stationary - creep or put in Park if coming to a halt after significant braking effort.

If you just replace the disks without finding out what was actually wrong you risk ending up with the same issue again. I'd want to find out what was wrong before changing them to make sure I don't do the same thing again.

Aye but he needs new pads anyway and if he works out if the the discs are warped / there are pad deposits it is not going to alter anything. He probably needs to change or skim them (skimming not that econcomical on a half worn disc - might as well get a new set).
I would just go forward with new set and take steps to be more careful to avoid both causes. The brakes on these cars - or any 2 tonne car with this pace - need looking after. Unfortunately.

I had vibrations in my 2017 PE after 10 000 km/ 6 000 miles :-( I was only my left front that was causing it . Stealer said it was 3 days over 6 months warranty and not covering !!!! Had some strange excuses that the disc was overheated and then that car was mapped......... :-( Took the disc to a specialist and he told me it was residue build up. Needed to really use the brakes hard from time to time. Now i take the car out for high speed braking from time to time. Really "flooring" the brake pedal. No probs after that so far. This is really important after washing the car as the residue builds up .More important if you park the car for days after a wash. My experience from my other cars and RS6 , if you have residue build up you are fu... and need to skim or change discs.

I find it hard to belive that these disks can warp in spirited public road driving
The general cause of any vibration is pad deposit build up and failing to use the brakes hard several time to remove this when early signs apear
If left to continue the removing the build up by hard braking may not clean the disks

I say this having owned 3 RS4s and have had some judder no znd again but its always cured by hard braking to remove deposit build up
my wife has had her share of fast Audis and commutes in slow town traffic and gets signs of judder more than me

This is why i find the i got warped disks as the answer to judder under braking
And struggle to see how theses disks can warp under normal driving
On regular hard trak driving possibly
IMO

So i would first try som hard braking from 70 to 10 mph 8 to 10 times with out the abs kicking in with the pads you have
If this does not cure it i woukd go to a local brake skimmer and get the disks skimmed prior to new pads

Agree re warping. But skimming front discs that have already seen one set of brake pads? Is it worth the hassle or cost? My front discs were below min thickness when I still had life in my first set of pads.

Mine went and were replaced under warranty, they did the hubs as well as a precaution.
There were a few issues with early cars around the 6k mile mark. Think there could have been a bad batch of disks knocking around.

Skimming the disks is cheaper than replacing, but depending on how warped they are you'll only get one go before having to replace the disks.

New Order. The best skimmer in Glasgow is Owen Ferry Automotive in Paisley, he has the best pro cut machine and I regularly see dealers dripping cars off there.

ZZZ many thanks for the heads up will be going to see owen ferry in coming weeks. £80 +VAT per wheel.
Just need the two fronts needing skimming on mine. Have new pads already sitting so there obviously going on as well.

The bloody paint rubbed off my inner rear arches as well due to some excessive welly coupled with new alloys. Spoke to Owen and he used to role arches at the Porsche repair centre in Glasgow so hes going role them out before i repaint the arches.

With this in mind, can I go and give the car some spirited driving to help reduce judder on mine? (or give the discs a bloody good clean?)
I've not done much hard hard driving, but am getting judder so can only assume it would be down to pad deposits?
