So if you were to just copy the map from a PE to a non PE you would get the extra RPM and bhp?

Surely it’s just a raise of the rev limiter then?

But why would you do that?

If you’re going to map it, then map it properly.

Taking a map from a PE has no advantages that I can see.

No, I wouldn’t do a copy, but it made me think about the absolute differences, and what actual components are responsible.

And ultimately how much the map is responsible for all that extra power/torque.

I suppose I’m slightly fascinated by the way we all have the same basic car and engine, but some clever arrangement of 0’s and 1’s in a small box can revolutionise the translation and unleashing of its true potential!

Not keyless entry, it was still an option. I didn't spec it.
Interesting as I am 100% certain I didn't order it either but mine came with it. (delivered Nov '17)
When I first sat in it I tried to find the slot left of the wheel but wasn't there.

Are you confusing it with keyless start? All C7s including basic A6s have keyless start. Keyless entry is an option though.
Do you need to press a button on your key to unlock the doors?

I don’t think there is based on the replies.

There seem to be a few myths and legends in the mix about them, but generally it seems to be software.

According to the Audi Sport engineering department, the (high level) answers I got indicate that the RS6 Performance is more than a simple remap:
- Reworked cylinder head
- Reworked exhaust valves
- Optimized intercooler
I have not been able to obtain more specifics (yet).

I was told different intercooler by my contact but then my dealer said rubbish as same part no as normal RS6. That will be the decider - if the parts your describe are re-worked they should have different part nos. Does anyone have access to the database?

I've recently found out that the PE uses higher pressure fuel pumps for the two on the engine and the one in the fuel tank over the non-PE.
RS6 PE - Current
RS4 (B8.5) 2015 - Sold
A4 3.0 TDI Quattro BE Avant - Gone
Focus ST170 - Garaged

I have no more knowledge about the true answer to this than anyone else here, but....

If Audi had made any significant changes to the hardware in the PE they would have been banging on about it in the PE press release. You don't upgrade the intercoolers, re-work the cylinder head, etc, etc and not take the opportunity to brag about it. Read any press release from Audi and they will go to great pains to tell you every little thing they have done to improve / update a model. Intercoolers and cylinder heads are pure gold dust to the press release writer.

Could not agree more. This -and the fact the heads have the same part number - suggests simple remap to me. Which, given the modest gains, is all it is likely to be in fairness. It makes no sense to waste money on mods you don’t need. And if it makes no sense ...

I think it offers the power upgrade which is actually over boost plus front double glazing as standard. Different wheels. Not sure what else. I looked inside a really nice 67 plate one today and the dash looked the same as my 14 plate.
Double glazing was standard on FL my15.
I asked about this on the FL model and no salesman appeared to have any knowledge of it..
