When it's all fixed maybe try some stone chip protection. I know a brick will still smash it but 90% of stones will be fended off.

I couldn't believe my bad luck - only about 3 weeks after picking up the car too! I think I'll leave it as-is for now, as people have gratefully suggested, its not worth paying the Audi tax, when I'm sure it can be done a lot cheaper! I'm talking to HazzyDayz to see if they will do it (and enable CarPlay for me at the same time!).

You signature says 2016 but do you mean it was first registered in 2016 or it is MY2016? Car play was only available from MY2017 which is basically cars that were built mid 2016 onwards.

Mine was 30th April 2016, so basically MY2016 and about 1 week before the cutover. Apparently HazzyDayz say the MMI needs a software update (mine is P2519) before the CarPlay activation can be attempted, so they believe its possible though - they are still researching. I found a scanadvanian company who said they can do it, and even said they could do it remotly - but wanted €700 to do it. (I also dont fancy giving remote access to a company so far away - I believe the cost will include a Vagcom or similar and they would do screen sharing).
