2018 Navi DVD

Post by Bushy » Sun Feb 11, 2018 3:09 am

My car is 2015 model and finding more and more roads are not correct on the Nav

Where is the best place to purchase an up to date DVD

Stealer wants about £250-300?
Can't beat a bit of boost!

No direct help, but there always must be a 'retrofit/vag expert' in your neightborehood. We have serveral around here (Belgium/Netherlands).
My local guy is asking around 50€ for updating the system....
Indeed rediculous stealers aks that kind of money for something that should be free of charge (keeping car and systems up to date).

I thought Audi gave you one or 2 free map updates?

If you don't have the Audi Connect option thought you could still download maps via their connect website.

I don’t know about pre-fl but I can’t imagine they are much different - you can just go to ‘My Audi’ where you can download a map update. They are stored on the MMI’s internal hard disk. You need a 16GB+ SD card. I believe you only get a certain number of updates free, but I would imagine they would allow you to buy an update. I don’t know if the downloaded updates are keyed to your car or not, so I don’t know if you can bowwor someone’s else’s downloaded update.

Just in case you do plan to update the maps yourself, might best hook the battery up to a battery charger as the update takes quiet long time ;).

Just for completeness, pre-FL you can’t get an update from my-Audi app or website.

This along with twinkly lights are the major difference in the FL, that feature came with the upgraded MMI.

Us pre-fls are stuck with paying Audi money or using google maps/Waze unfortunately.
