thats correct the forge cooler is a waste of time i know people who fitted it ended up going back to stock, only solution will be the mrc intercooler i think ,and agreed all the intakes have been no better than stock with a filter inside the forge intake loses 20 bhp over stock ,look forward to seeing the results for the meth and the gains /failsafes in place as meth has good gains but high rsk
High risk?

It's all displayed on a gauge so you can see if it's working plus, the map has very minimal changes from the existing one

For what it is worth, the armor shields arrived and i tried to make a moke up in paper for rough shape. Atm only tried the paper moke up of the left manifold and turbo. All in all it should work but just bit affraid that especially on the inner side (V) i will not be able to press it down deep or close enough to the manifold and have gaps that might have a negative effect (heat trapped). Working in 2 halves for the manifolds should work, turbo is bit of a different ballpark, especially the underside, there i'm aswell worried i won't be able to get my hand deep enough to press everything around it without voids and pockets.
(hmm somehow i couldn't attach picture 'image invalid').
Not giving up yet, just giving it a second tought and ideally the sheets i have ordered are bit too narrow but could still use them for the inner manifolds, underside turbo and downpipes so no loss.

Yup i know and tried it, but when uploading i got a warning 'invalid'. Not sure if file size or name or type but it was .jpeg.
Anyway, not much to see beside the manifold and top turbo side wrapped in paper to get more or less my templates.
I think i might do the inner side of manifolds and downpipes with the material i have now and order a bigger sheet :).

This is extremely interesting for me to whiteness, my car doesn't even arrive till mid March so very jealous your trying my idea before me - lol, just hope you can monitor and compare temps for all to see the difference - which will be huge !!

Aquamist installed. Car on its way back to me now. Already done a log and the intake temps are dramatically lower than before. Will upload some better data and pics in the next few days bit for now you can see attached the before and after different in intake temps. On the graph you can see the drop in temperature when the aquamist kicks in. More to follow. ImageImageImage

Also bit confused about the logs...if that is a constant 25°C even under full throttle in the air manifold before cylinders, then that is amazing!
More info and pictures are welcome :).

Okey, so did an attempt. Started with the drivers side manifold and i think i did a good job trying to full enclose and wrap the manifold. Did it in 2 pieces (innerside and outerside) and tapped the 2 sides together with heat/aluminium tape. Holding strong and almost no airpockets between it. Near the turbo (cold) side it was a tight fit and decided to sadely remove half of the 1/2 tick insulation so heatshield doesnt touch the turbo.
Passengiers side is bit trickier with the air intake pipes in the way and close to manifold but already managed to do the outside (might do the inner side out of 2 pieces).
*pictures will follow including templates in case.

At work now and did a little logging on the way to work. Very cold with 4°C so it is always bit a give and take when logging especially since it are temps related logs.
Cylinder head temps goes consistant up with oil temps (same values).
Bit a guess atm if it is due to the low ambient temps but the car didnt pull higher iat (before throttle bottle...so uncooled air) then 85°C where as last time i recorded temps up to 140°C (but again i dont think this gives a good view on things as it is as least 10°C colder then previous logging day and i hadn't pulled several times and not everything is fully shielded yet).
I did see EGT (exhaust gas temps) going up to +900°C where as before i had logs of 880°C so it is kind of an indication some heat got shielded and stays in the manifolds. More too follow...

Sadely and solehow only 1 picture works...will see if i can fix it. Anyway :).
Please dont judge, work in progress (still turbos to do etc). Also shielded the alu side pipe of the return air intake.

Well bit hard to take pictures as everything is soooooo close and packed :).
I'm using obdeleven, bit simular as VCDS but for android. Pretty cheap app/dongle but always carry it in the car.
You can do almost anything you can do with VCDS, comes with a few 'one click' settings and you can live data record stuff.

Ahh ok, so can you verbally describe where your meth injectors are fitted?

Wrong dude. This guy is insulating, the other guy has the aquamist.
