Best Air Intake - Eventuri VS Forge

Post by DXB_RS6 » Sat Jan 13, 2018 6:17 pm

Looking at upgrading the intake. Does anyone have any of the above installed or have any opinions on either?

Here are the links to both products:

https://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/HiFlo ... -1556.html

Appreciate any feedback.

Cheers.

I assume you want a performance increase and not just a pretty bit of carbon under the bonnet?
Heard the forge motorsport one made no performance gains and possibly made less power.
Awaiting to see what the Eventuri one does in independent tests.

I assume you already have it remapped as that is a much better performance upgrade.

Hi Mike,

Yes, not at all bothered about the look. All performance.

Had it mapped by MRC, Stage 2 with an Akrapovic and downpipes.

Just found the price of the eventuri, £2000! Image VS Forge £1000

Yes big difference in price but the eventuri might actually show a gain.

I think MRC are working on the air intake but I think the biggest problem once you reach stage 2 is keeping the temps down. Someone told me they have started cutting up the original air box (or maybe it was a dream?).

I was speaking to someone who said the Eventuri showed a 5bhp increase on tests with his friend had done. I am waiting for more proof as it’s something I’m also considering.

There is also AWE

Yes there is a new AWE one too. I have the old AWE one, seem to be a bit of an improvement over the OEM intake but didn't test it.

I found the AWE one online but on more than one site it said it was discontinued.

I ended up putting a BMC filter on it and its a nice improvement. Before and after attached. ImageImageImageImage

The original AWE that I have was discontinued some time ago while they were developing the new version. The new one has only recently been announced.

Eventuri states a 20HP/20TQ Increase on the dyno.

I have one coming, but, I'll be installing it along with an HMS Exhaust, and Stage 2 Flash, so, I won't be able to tell what the intake does on its own.

Could you get a dyno run done first, then with the new air box and then with the Exhaust and the Stage 2 Flash?

Unfortunately, there really aren't many Dynos in HK. Especially AWD Dynos.

Would love to if there was, but, having to find the time to go back and forth to tuner, and then everything, is also another story.

From a cost vs gain perspective based on manufacturer and independent figures AWE 2.0 carbon intake appears to be the best. Particularly for Stage 1&2 tunes

The AWE offers reasonable gains aswell. We are AWE tuning dealers aswell as eventuri dealers so can provide pricing and availability on either if required.

Just pop an email over to us sales@apautomotive.com
