X pipe

I'm away to get the front and centre resonators removed, the company doing it can do straight replacement pipes or an x pipe. Has anyone any info on an x pipe. Apparently it's gives better exhaust gas flow but would this affect the engine management in any way. Thanks in advance

Yep as Chris said, we both kept them straight. Adding an x-pipe could affect the engine; if that's your intention then I doubt any power gain will be noticable but could be argued by Audi in a warranty claim that you have affected the way the engine works (a risk with modified exhaust anyway but increases the risk I think). There will probably be a slight difference to the sound though.

The centre muffler has an x chamber in it so to have an x pipe would mimic OEM. That said I’ve heard a straight piped version and it does have a different and slightly louder but not in base tone

When you look through the centre muffler it looks like the 2 pipes go straight through and don't connect.
