Standard Exhaust

Still on look out for standard sports exhaust for C7 RS6/RS7.
Possible swap for Miltek for same with cash adjustment or stand alone purchase of standard item.

Why not just chop out your resonators and have a close to milltek sound for a couple of hundred pounds.

How does chopping out resonators affect warranty with dealership I pick up my new RS6 in 2 weeks?

Don't see it affecting anything really to be honest. Depends on how mod friendly your dealership is.

I am in the same dilemma, I don’t want to start cutting up an exhaust. So I am going towards a milltek.
I know others have but I would be worried about getting crap from a dealer come resale.

Any good fabricator good easily weld back the cut-outs. And I don’t see a dealer looking under the car! You will be fine.

It is only resonators being removed not catalytic converters or any other performance changing mod so I don't see it affecting warranty on anything other than the exhaust itself. I have seen some instances where a dealer has stated something like a knocking noise has been caused by a milltek (think it was an RS4 rather than an RS6 though) so they had to put the standard exhaust back on to prove it wasn't but they still honoured the warranty. I seem to recall at least a couple of instances of similar stories. Never heard of anyone being turned down point blank for any warranty work with an aftermarket exhaust. And I do believe somebody (with an RS6) might have even had a new engine replaced under warranty and they had a modified exhaust.

Each to their own, but if I was worried about that I'd modify the exhaust now then keep an eye out for cheap second hand exhaust. There are loads normally available for next to nothing as people replace them with aftermarket ones especially as they take up loads of room to store. Why keep that huge system in your garage for the next 3 years or however long you are keeping it? Just buy one for a couple of hundred quid when you are close to selling it; they will be cheap and plentiful by then.

Yep factory exhaust is long long, you need to cut it so it won’t be so long and keep in your garage)

Factory sports exhaust setup. Taking up space in Garage, decided to keep hold of it. Not sure if selling a car with a Miltek on it will devalue car

Same for my RS4. I attempted to keep it in a mates garage but eventually had to chop it up and scrap it as I couldn’t even sell it! Having a non-res milltek on was a benefit when I sold.

Having the same dilemma as to whether to upgrade on my RS6. Have a family now, so more conscious of the noise in the back!
