Start/stop issue

On a few occasions now when car has switched off via the start/stop - when it has come to restart it has not started cleanly. Couple of times it fired over a few times like as if the battery was low (it isn’t) and other times it hesitates.
Anyone suffered this? I reported to the stealers when it was last in for its brakes but they couldn’t find any faults etc.

Best thing switch it off when you first get into the car
Star stop is a waste of time imo it must do excessive waer to the starter motor
And the small fraction of fuel and CO2 it saves is a PR excersise fof the manufacturer
There must be a way to either disable it completely or get it to remember its last settin
I did that in my wifes SQ5 as she found the stop star a pain too

Do you have auto handbrake on? If so, try turning it off to see if you get crisper re-starts.

Not sure if it was engaged will check for next time however, could it be a factor to possibly cause that issue though?

You can make it remember the last setting or turn it off completely using
VCDS.

I find it comforting when sat in London traffic and it’s switched off unlike the C6 which used to taunt me with its 6mpg figure when sat in traffic

Turn it off (including COD altough the last needs to be done by tuner).
I can understand if your daily route has often traffic jams it might be worth it, but as noted (altough not sure) it wears starter afaik.
Same for the COD, again not sure, but more affraid of the long term wear and uneven wear of the constant working cyllinders versus the shutdown cylinders (cylinder wear, spark/coil plug/injection etc...). Soon will completly write out COD (mostly because of the noticable change when COD kicks in/out since i'm aftermarket exhaust/DP). Not sure if gasmilage will change much (only -50% of my daily route it uses COD)....sorry nature/gasmoney wallet, but full V8 for me please

No tried it on the Audi but on our new Golf the auto handbrake alters the stop start in that the car often doesn't fire up the second you start to lift off the brake - indeed it often only starts when you touch the throttle.

I've disabled it in the wife's 2016 RS3 pre facelift using
VCDS.

Yes I changed the voltage. Think I had to use a different voltage as the quoted one didn't work for me.
I haven't found a setting to retain last used mode yet.
