Aquamist: Water injection systems, Methanol injection systems

Hi,

I'm looking to install downpipes to connect to my Akrapovic on my C7. I currently have an MRC stage 1 tuned installed but will need to upgrade to a stage 2 to support the downpipes.

My local tuner has advised me to install the Aquamist water injection system. I live in Dubai.

Does anyone have any experience with these systems or particularly the Aquamist?

Do you think it's really necessary to install one?

Ideally I'd like to avoid it as I see it being an extra headache with more complications etc but if it's really needed then I guess it must be done.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Water/methanol spray onto the intercooler or into the combustion chamber ? I have used a couple of the intercooler sprays on GT-Rs in the past to manage maximum boost cooling, they did make the engine smoother under full load (and allowed more power).

Given the temperature in your region and basics around charge density I don't think its unreasonable. Yes they are pushing more money but I am guessing this is not going to be an issue given it is a small % of the overall spend here. Higher density and more consistent combustion helps it stay live.
