RS6 Man Maths

I thought I'd have a look at the depreciation of the C7, just 'cos.

I looked at the cheapest and median prices in autotrader nationwide, to come up with prices by age and work out a rough depreciation profile. This takes no account of mileage or spec; just quick and dirty...

I thought i'd compare to a Nissan Qumquat - just because.

So, this shows categorically, that buying a new Qumquat is stupid. As you lose more money over a couple of years than buying a used RS. :bigblink: :beerchug:

Anyway, joking aside, I wonder what the C7 prices will be like in years 5 and 6, and what will happen when there's a C8 RS6. Thoughts?

My thoughts are you have too much time on your hands. Get back to work and earn more money.

I'm kinda hoping the C8 will be terrible and my C7 will rise in value when I finish my PCP in 2020. 😂😂😂

If you don't mind me asking, where have Audi set the GFV, and what length contract?

Not sure how good an indication of actual price it'd be, as I asked Mike Fish at ADI and it seemed far too low?

I'm just in the process of confirming my finance but the GMFV is set to £36,195 after 4 years for an RS6 Performance

you can check here also:

36k on a C7 four years from now is quite generous!

Pretty sure mine is 32k after 4years with 10k per annum. I ordered mine on the week that orders opened for the PE. At the time of the order they had no GFV for the PE and based the figures on the non PE. I was quite happy with this as I intended to keep the car so it just meant I paid more off in the first 4 years and had a smaller balloon payment at the end.
By the time I came to collect the car and signed all the paperwork (I collected 8 weeks after books opened) the numbers didn't really change.

Screen/retail prices aren't really the indicator of residual values, the trade/p/x prices are. Audi keep the screen prices artificially inflated to minimise their losses v margin, but try selling a C7 to the trade and as a general rule it's CAP clean plus a bit for the right spec. Those prices are a good £5-8k away from the screen/retail price, and more on older cars. The C7 has held its retail value well, but that's thanks to Audi working the market in supply & demand.

A friend of mine has an early C7 with 60k miles and been offered £36k as the dealers dont want it due to age and mileage.

Sound like someone wants an RS6! The question is, are there enough wheels out there to cope with this eventuality?

I bought my FL RS6 last year for £61k (got a cracking deal at the time) and sold a couple of weeks ago to the trade for £58k so net loss of £3k in a shade under a year, best depreciation I’ve had on a car in a long time!

Problem with them is there are now over 100 FL available on autotrader so I can only see residuals falling now hence why I jumped ship, I loved the car but not enough to take a bath over Winter.
