Removing wing mirrors

Post by rtd » Thu Jul 27, 2017 10:16 am

Does anyone have any instructions on how to remove and fit the wing mirror covers? I've just bought some CF ones to replace the aluminium ones.

I found a good guide on Google when I did mine. They are the same as any A6 so I did a search for Audi A6 wing mirror remove or something like that. A few guides in YouTube too.
Not difficult though. I bought some glass suction holders to help remove the glass but you can get it out by fully turning it one way and prising it put gently with a plastic trim removal tool or similar.

Extreme care with the glass, it's not cheap to replace. The tech at my local confessed that they break a fair few on removal. Suckers ideal.

Ah I may just give it a miss doing myself then and let someone else do it - any recommendations for a decent garage in London to do the job?

I got some suckers for about £3 off amazon. It was a couple of small ones so I could get both on at once. Came off easy.
