Exhaust flap plug

Right , temptation is getting the better of me . I can see the plug / connection but cant get fat fingers on it properly to get it off and i cant feel or see any release clip. So any tips before i go mad / wife comes home to find me tinkering !

Keith, removing the plug will cause a couple of errors. You won't notice on the dashboard it if you plug a laptop in it will show the errors. If you take it to Audi for a service they will notice the errors too. You can buy some millet valve delete modules for about £45 for a pair and you plug these into the ends of the wires. This will stop any errors being reported and also keep the ends if the wires free from any crap so you can refit them later if required.

Yes nice little mod for about 5 mins effort. It also means you don't have to keep cycling back to dynamic mode everything you start the car to open the flaps; you can just leave it in dynamic all the time and just use the gear stick to swap between D and S.

I would have hoped that milltek could have been a bit more helpful but I guess if you spoke to them about an RS6 they probably just looked it up on their system and saw no product showing. This valve delete module is for the milltek exhausts that they sell without valves for cars that have factory valves. As the milltek exhaust for an RS6 has valves there is no need for these modules for our cars according to milltek.

I suggested it was a part they produced for cars which they make unvalued systems for which have valves on from the factory !

Anyway spoke to the chaps on the link and some are now on the way, thanks for your help.

Thanks for the link - I've ordered one (assuming they come in pairs).

Do they connect 'between' the male / female connectors, in effect as a null connector with a loop back to prevent the errors? Or is it simply a plug for the open end of the connector of the loom?

If you order from Venom then I can confirm they come in pairs.

Yes to the latter, they just plug into the open connecter left after you unplug it from the valves so it protects the cars loom and fools the ECU but doesn't offer any protection for the valve socket.

I've fitted my valve delete modules - nice and easy to do. Cable tied one side and tucked up the other side.

However, I'm quite underwhelmed by the difference. Is there a particular sequence to connect them - i.e. ignition on, in dynamic mode etc, or just disconnect and plug in module with ignition off (as I did)?
