RS6 Performance - Fully Loaded Still Worth Buying?

I've been deliberating for some time now over buying an RS6 Performance fully loaded whether it is still worth buying given the A6 will be replaced imminently, interior is oldish now and with the RS5 just launched and RS4 end of the year does it make sense still? I value your opinions. I've driven this, RS7 and the R8 recently at an Audi track day and if I had a family car I'd get an R8 but at the moment, the RS6 makes sense. Any pitfalls to watch out for?

Other than depreciation none really as you will have warranty to cover you until you move on.

As an alternative, how about a lightly used, new shape panamera.

I haven't even considered that, what's it like?

So when is the new RS6 likely to be out? What's people's thoughts on the new RS5?

Likely 2018. A8 announced today and it along with 4 other model ranges to be released 2018. A8, A5, A6 Q3 and A1.
Reportedly getting 48V systems, touch screens with haptic feedback, and electric turbos...

Isn't the RS version normally a couple of years behind the A6 or do you mean RS6 will be out next year?

Yes, can't see RS6 before 2019. Depends how much $ VAG are coining out for dieselgate still I guess.
RS5 did nothing for me by sight, and early reviews aren't particularly positive.

I took the plunge a few weeks ago (car due in autumn), was waiting to see what the RS4 B9 would be like but after reading about the new RS5 I decided that the C7 is likely to be one of the last great engines in an Audi. I can also state with some authority that new is not necessarily better, the B7 is a better drive than the B8, my (very) old 993 Pork was the best Pork I ever owned (996, 997 and 991), the F355 was better than the F360, all from the perspective of driving fun. I think the C7 RS6 is a belter and one of the best RS cars built, I don't doubt the next one will be very capable but if form is anything to go by I won't be surprised if it falls short.

Agree with all that but the pork. Did not like my 993, only 1989 3.2 worse for me. Highlights 1970 2.2s and 996 GT3.
Still have a 997 as can't bring myself to sell it.

So what options did you go for Foxy? What's definitely not worth ordering?

I've spec B&O, Carbon Pack, Dynamic Package Plus and Parking Pack advanced as the main ones along with a few others
