All my cars have CTEKs

And I always wire them straight into the battery with the quick connect ports with the led indicators in, usually in a rear panel or tucked somewhere out of sight.

Been using them for many years and cant recommend them highly enough.

Hi,

Do you have to go to the battery / battery charging point or is it possible to go into the cigarette lighter socket ?

They do a cigarette charge lead too. I charge mine via the boot, connivence lead attached to the battery. Had no issues in the 12 months i’ve been doing this

I've not tried but the cigarette socket appears to be with ignition on only.
