Booked into audi - new software update??

Booked into audi for them to look at my alarm which is beyond annoying now!

They have said their is a software update due... given its mapped would it wipe this or impact it or are these software updates more to do with the MMI?

They are actually sending audi road side to me today first to see if they can sort it so I'll be telling him not to do anything software related (he's here in 30mins..)

Never had a car with manufacturer warranty - impressed with the response. Doubt they will sort it but nevertheless.

There is talk on another thread of an ECU update to address issues with o-rings in the cooling circuit of the turbo (IIRC), but my 2015 FL was in the dealership two days ago and they said there was no ECU update (or MMI update) applicable to my car.

Mainly worried that it wipes or adjusts the map. I'll speak to the tuner and then audi to see what the update does.

Roadside have taken it in...
alarm horn error - either bad wiring, water ingress or internal battery issue he suspects. Losing connection to car and hence triggering.
Told them not to do update for now - it is the o ring / turbo one...

I spoke to Doug at MRC regarding this, as mine is going for a remap at the end of this month. He advised he can't see how an ecu update can help the o ring but said if I was going to have it done, I should get it before the remap.

I contacted my local dealer who confirmed an update was available but they would catch my car next time it went to them, So it doesnt seem important.

As my warranty runs out in december and I will use MRC for future services I'm not bothering getting it done.

My map is on file and both dealer and tuner are close so will speak to them Monday.
Hoping audi can do update and then they can flash / copy back over the top of it.

Otherwise I'll leave it

There is no software update for the o-rings on the RS6 C7.

Only affects S models within a certain chassis range.

& they don't do a software update to resolve the fault.

They physically change the o-rings.

That's not what I read on the screen in the dealership.
It specifically said a software update and then if anything found replacement of parts..
Hence I'd like to have it done then get it back mapped.

That is a list of TPI available for the cooling system nothing related to the suggested software update my mate is a tech in Audi.

The master tech told him the info in the last post.

Find out the correct details of this update which ECU number it is related too.

I can get you the TPI campaign code & release date info.

That's probably because it'll be covered under Turbo and or intercooler. It's not coolant related.

Had my car in for an oil service on Friday. Was informed they were doing an ECU update when I dropped it offf although the service desk couldn't tell me the specific details of what or why. Paperwork on collection showed "Recall 21F2". Can't tell any difference driving it over the weekend -still makes good noises when I want it to!!
