Guys

Quick one - for those with a millek does anyone else have this chirping sound, doesn't happen on boost, only when slowing down off throttle. sounds like waste gate chatter - but no boost for waste gate?

Might be normal as it sounds like a ticking sound on well, tick over too. :biggrin2:

Loving the exhaust was curious thats all.

Car runs A1, no smoke, no drop in performance. Car is epic

TIA guys. :bigwave:

I'm sure mine doesn't.. but has downpipes so perhaps not an ideal comparison. I'll check tomorrow.
I think I also have some vids without the downpipes from JBS tuning site..

Non Res Cat back

Popped down to Kwik Fit to get it on the ramps - the chirping stems from the valves at the back as they are permanently open on mine.

It's booked in to Audi to get new valve plugs as they have corroded when I disconnected them - Typical!!

Hmm, do you mind explain me what is wrong with the valves?
I mean, mine does exactly the same as yours...under load boots even raspier.
Tought it was normal :s.
What i do know is my valves work perfectly as i just installed a bypass module so i can manually open and close them.
So they do work and close properly.....or are they bit 'loose' when open and rattle?

Iain, when I unplugged my valves I plugged the loose cables into a set of Milltek valve delete modules. This keeps the connectors clean and stop dirt getting in and rusting. They also prevent the ECU throwing any errors (none show up on the dash but they do when you plug the car in for a download). Got £45 it was a no brainer.

Mike, thanks for this - thats where I fcuked up!! I didn't cover the connectors and they have corroded. It threw the error code up, but mine show up on the dash; also a faulty lambda sensor as of Thursday, which I'm hoping Audi won't say is a result of the Milltek!! - so its booked in to get the connectors replaced - £150.

@dasquade - I don't think theres anything wrong with the valves, its they just "chirp" as the gasses pass over them; weird thing is when accelerating there is no chirp and theres lots more gasses at a greater speed passing over them.

Does it sound like a crow? My 2916 S6 did the same do disconnected the valves, problem solved. Garage said it's very common they had a 1 month old S1 had the same issue

Nope - too high pitched for a crow - having said that I have a theory - I disconnected the valves, it didn't happen; plugs corroded and I put them back in - valves seem to be working intermittently (hence the chattering perhaps) - am going to disconnect them again and see if the chattering disappears.

The more non res millteks i hear the more i hear the typical rattling sound. Imho it is normal, at least with the valves open.
Going to catless dp's soon, wondering if that will change anything....

Well going to cattles on non resonated Miltek may be a bad idea, as it will drone like hell in a highway, it drones now with stock dps so I can imagine how it will be with cattles dps, it will sound in comfort like now it's sounds in dynamic all the time.
