I think mine is not too bad for the performance over it's first 4.5k miles, but then I was stuck in traffic for an hour last night, thanks A13...

For mostly highway drive is ok. I mostly drive in the city and get 15 l/100km (19mpg) w/o start stop enabled.

First thing I do when I get in the car is knock the gear stick down to S and turn stop start off, day to day it averages around 18mpg but on a run 28mpg, which isn't bad for such a powerful car.

The C7 can't exactly be classed as economical but I'm massively impressed at getting 29 mpg (my record so far) on a long run. Only a former C6 RS6 owner can be impressed by that! The thirst of the old beast was biblical

Yes it can be "economical" when on the motorway. This is when it is better than my 4. But when hooning around it is worse than the 4.

You know you can use VCDS to permanently turn off stop start or do as I did, make it remember last position so once I turn it off it remains off until I decide otherwise (which is never). I also have inverted the light on the button so it is off when start stop is off as being lit all the time would annoy me.

I couldn't care less...

But as said coming from a C6 this thing is epic!

Thanks for the tip, but I wouldn't have a clue on how to do it!

On the same regular journeys my Astons did around 14 mpg. So to me the RS6 is like a Prius :beerchug:

Recently bought an ML63 with a tweak and am seeing 16.4mpg on average. This thing is hilarious.

Well today I decided to see how far I could push it and was chuffed to see 31.2 mpg! Reckon I could get more as well, I was running on a less than 1/4 full tank and in comfort mode which seems to be the best for getting the most mpg.

Average since owning is 16mpg
Round town I'm about 11-12 and commuting and motorway 29-30

The worst average I've ever had in any car... even my TVR wasn't that bad (18)

IainM on here quite often gets mid-30's when his partner drives on long runs.

She managed Cardiff to Cambridge and back on a single tank - 75 miles left showing to empty upon return :biggrin2:

The novelty of it all hasn't worn off yet-I find myself trying to get max mpg and the DIS is constantly on the 'mpg' scale. I know it's not what RS6 ownership is about but after the C6 -best described by Top Gear as 'like chucking buckets of unleaded down a car shaped storm drain'-it really is a breath of fresh air.
Obviously the hammer does come down often as well. Ticks so many boxes this car
