Cutting middle boxes out?

Just thinking about not going the whole aftermarket exhaust but cutting out the middle boxes. Anyone done this? I don't want the car to become "droney".

Sounds great and no drone. Well worth the money.
You can cut out the front and centre resonators.

I've got a pair of Milltek front pipes that I never got round to fitting (would need a step down to the oem centre pipe). £100 would take them away.
The circled bits

Do these do away with front resonators?

Does it do away with the front and centre resonators? And does it line up with the OEM exhaustat the point where you'd need to join them? Aftermarket exhaust tend to take a slightly different line to OEM exhaust which is why I ask.
Edit; Just looking at the pictures of the B8 Rs4 OEM exhaust and the milltek version they look like they would join up at the middle.

Pretty sure they line up, but they're 3" and the oem bit is 2.75", or maybe it's 2.75" to 2.5". Either way, it's a sleeved join and bolts to the back of the downpipe. They do away with the first silencers, and I'm sure any fabricator could bend you a straight pipe to replace the centre resonators and deal with the step in diameter too.
