Facelift or pre facelift

I am looking at two cars one is a 15/15 car with 7 k on it ticks all the box's and a early 14 plate car with almost half the miles at 4.5k and a much better spec, its almost 9k cheaper. Is the facelift 9k better taking into account the lower millage of the older car?

Thanks

Keith

Better from a residual value point of view or just better all round? Residuals on FL models will always be much stronger down the line. The FL model also gets you upgrades such as Matrix LED lights which weren't an option on pre FL models plus a lot more upgrades. Go for the FL one I'd say.

Imho spec > all.
So if better spec, less miles and less money = win

Sounds like FL is overpriced too.

Forget the mileage - both in same ballpark.
I would go FL. But buy the right spec. If this FL doesn't have what you want, wait.

There is only 2.5k miles between them! That's nothing and won't make the hogher.milage one any less when you come to sell it ie 32.5k or 35k miles is the same thing.

This. A facelift car of that age should never be £9k more than a pre-facelift car, if the prefacelift carnis priced correctly.

I was the same position when I was looking.
Cheapest FL in colour I'd want was 7k more and lower spec.
I went pre FL with sub 4k miles on. December 14 car.

Don't regret it one bit, May do come sale time!

The fl car is well specified and £67k has all the bits on my must have list, the pre FL Car is just over £58k and from looking at the options list some one went bonkers over 20k of options.

Looking at best value, really financially the pre fl is the better one , I can afford the FL one but Its more than I would rather spend on a car a car have ended up at that price point due to not being able to locate a car with the right combination of miles , options and specifications.

Is there that much of a difference between led lights on the pre fl and the fl lights ?

One point is I am looking for this car to be a long term car , my last car I had for 9 years and 140k miles.

Thats why I probably have not pushed the button on it, the car itself ticks all the boxs but my gut is telling me its too much. but so far its the only car i have seen which is in the right condition and with the spec I want .

Mine was similar price, but only about 12k of options.
It was a stretch for a FL for me as I knew I'd be lumping another chunk at getting it to 700+
Plus I just had a thing for merlin... or should I say aubergine unless it's rip roaring sunshine! ;-) (still love the colour though!)

One thing I learned buying my FL just a couple of weeks ago is that the FL is a significantly lower tax bracket over the original. I was very pleased when my tax and parking permits dropped compared to my B7 RS4!

Yes. FL ones are very clever matrix ones.

Matrix lights are very good!

How many options do you want? You can buy a brand new car for 67k but it won't have many options at that price.
