Finally got there-incoming C7

Post by stevo55 » Thu Apr 06, 2017 9:43 am

After a ton of grief and chasing around I'm finally getting myself into a C7. Selling my C6 has been a proper faff and have frankly been pulling my hair out. It seems that the C6 Saloon suffers from the same issue as the RS7-they don't sell well! Incredible cars, very rare but for some odd reason people shy away from them in favour of an Avant. Lesson learned! Mine goes to Cambridge Audi next week (unless it privately sells but frankly I doubt it considering all the drama I've had trying to sell it) and then am getting into this:

Image

Image

2016 in Panther Black crystal effect with 13k on the clock.
Mahoosive spec and pretty bang on more or less:

Dynamic Pack
21" twin spoke titanium (currently chrome and they're changing that as part of the deal)
Lunar silver interior with rock grey stitching on the seats
Matt brushed aluminium trim
Red brake calipers
Advanced key with hands free boot operation
HUD
Assistance Pack with ACC, pre-sense plus, side and active lane assist
Parking pack advanced with top view
Sports exhaust
Matt aluminium styling package
Panoramic sunroof
Privacy glass

All told £14,185 (according to the price list) worth of options. Connect & a couple of other bits would have been nice but most of the other boxes have been ticked.
May get the chrome wrapped black (same as my C6) as I love the stealth look and the C7 is a much more aggressive front anyway so all black increases that look. The lighter interior I wasn't sure about until I saw it in the flesh and it looks better than I thought. Still may get the aluminium around the MMI and gearstick wrapped black but not sure if that would spoil the look?
Thanks for all the advice and bone questions from myself-all the input and advice on here has been most welcome. I can now give my missus a rest as I've been driving her (and myself) mad by obsessively scanning for sale ads etc. I think most on here have been there!
Cambridge Audi have been good as gold and mega helpful in throwing in some extra bits and pieces. I'm happy with the deal although I wasn't planning on going for such a young or expensive car! The finance actually worked out cheaper due to residuals and if I'd gone for for a pre FL 2014 model the difference was about £50 a month so it was a no brainier really.
All going well should be in the car his time next week.
Will miss my V10 but massively looking forwards to joining the C7 club.
Pics and more details to follow once I get my grubby mitts on her.

Nice, you'll love the C7. Handles much better than the C6.

Having seen the issues with this car first hand, I really wouldn't.
I know you've found what looks like an ideal car, but genuinely, this car could have been a death trap. It's more luck than judgement that a serious accident never happened with this car :(
Please reconsider. For your and your families sake.
Believe only the man who has nothing to gain from what he says.

It wouldn't matter if audi have taken that car and Completely replaced all the steering and braking components, I still wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. You can find another car but you'd never replace or forgive yourself if anything happened to you or family. Run man run.

Obviously there is a huge thread about this which I'm sure you've read. But I'm with the rest.
Have a polite chat with them and find another, Otherwise break out the forum info and duty of care stuff.
Ultimately There shouldn't be any reason or penalty for backing out.. other than the hassle of getting another deal on the loon c6...

I spoke to dealer about a blue one.. std car, but previouslymrc stage 2, they were oblivious and shocked they hadn't picked up on this at inspection / ecu checks (or at least they said that!)
Gave me some bartering power... but that's far and away from safety issues.
