Anyone know the Merlin Purple C7 RS6 that ran at VMAX last weekend?

Think it managed a 191mph through the beams & i'm keen to know what power/modifications it was running??

I'd expect a C7 with dynamic package plus to pretty much do that with no mods.

Hi Mike, not at VMAX it wouldn't.

You need a huge level of power to get into the 190's & beyond. As an example, only R35 GT-R's with North of 700bhp can just about crack the 200mph at Brunters & at last weeks event, an 800bhp Supercharged C63 only managed 192 & a Veryron i think 199 (although on a different day it did get a better top speed).

Although a derestricted C7 could likely crack 200mph eventually, you'd need far more than the 1.5/6 miles on offer at VMAX to achieve it.

A Pagini Huayra only managed i think 196, so the C7 RS6 that made 191 must have been packing & i'm just curious as to what?

But an RS4 previously managed 189 there so thought a standard C7 Performance running similar power with 8 gears to counteract the weight difference should be able to achieve a similar speed.

Edit; it could have possibly been a B5 running huge power.

Having worked at Bruntingthorpe recently I asked the 'what was the quickest at VMAX?' question. Apparently it was a heavily tuned Porsche managed over 240 mph which is some serious going!

Mike, the RS4 you refer to IIRC was MRC's & it was a B5 running huge power. I ran my B7 RS4 there years ago which was DMS mapped & had a Milltek but was only capable of 176mph i think. Managed 197mph in my R35 GT-R a few years back which is the fastest i've been & that was running 640bhp but also had some mechanical modifications, but back then you ran from the opposite runway so were carrying speed onto the main runway, whereas nowadays they start on the main runway so speeds in the main have dropped a little. i believe Brunters was suffering with a fairly strong headwind last weekend which makes the C7 RS6 effort in the company it had quite remarkable & thus must have been quite extensively modified.

The long standing record for a Porsche i believe was 229 & it was a 9ff tuned 996 (named 9EXX) Last year a bonkers 1400bhp Porsche did 238mph, but the Koenigsegg One:1 took the title with 240mph at the same event.

Is there a video of the Merlin car? There aren't that many around and I know the number plates on 3 of them.

Not seen a video, only a photo & the listed speed. It didn't have a front number plate on & looked as though that was a permanent arrangement as no mounting plate either.

Was it static at the time to see how low it was?
The 3 I know of one is on super low coilovers, one is on air and the other is standard.

This merlin got demolished by an M5, you sure there wasnt another C7 that got the 191?

Edit: Yep Merlin was standard, with ramics.
There was another couple of 6's there.

That Evolve M5 has a debatable output of 750-770bhp (many think it's more than that) so no surprise if mullered a stock RS6.

I may be incorrect in that the 191mph C7 could possibly have not been Merlin Purple unless their were more than one in that colour, but a C7 RS6 is quoted as having done 191 which is why i'm curious to know what modifications it had & what power/torque it was outputting.

It looks like black optics, lowered about 40mm, ramics and no front plate.

You'd think that it would be the downpipes + decat tune (700+)to hit that vmax.

How far is it?

I hit 179 in a 850 gtr on standing KM...

I looked at Vmax when I had my C6 just fancied doing 200mph but members on here helped and said it wouldn't happen as Brunters is not long enough for a bid heavy, all be it 740bhp C6.
