Collecting my rs6 riviera blue performance friday!

Post by RsM4d » Thu Mar 02, 2017 12:58 am

Hi guys just agreed a deal with audi to buy a 66 plate riviera blue performance model. Initially I was going to buy a rs7 but I walked in and seen the riviera blue rs6 /'d couldnt let it go.

Had a test drive and even though it has the sports exhaust it doesnt seem loud enough on full chat? I had driven the rs3 the previously week or so and on any downshift it was popping and banging away but the rs6 was more restrained and wasnt doing it? Maybe a miltek decat pipe needed?

Also it has aluminium pack instead of black which I think will need to be dechromed. But apart from that the pan roof and full spec except headsup and reversing camera..

Any ideas on what to do with mods like lowering and spacers etc would be appriciated as im new to the rs range.

Pics to follow! Cheers

Following - sounds like a similar position to me! :-)
Apart from my cars a lowly pre FL model. :-)

I'd like to see some pics of cars on various setups - hr 20mm / 40mm and kw adjustable.
Likely I'll go 20mm but not 100%

Perfect colour choice, but I'm biased!

Mine has the full carbon pack back and currently having 20MM H&R springs fitted. Black or carbon pack looks better on a bright colour IMHO.

I think black / carbon looks better on all colours but I know others like the alu trim too.

40mm springs with 15mm spacers on the rear. No spacers on the front as it is rubbing the wheel arch slightly without spacers.

@Mike did yours have air or was it optioned with DRC?

OP - the RS3 is a real hooligan sound wise. The RS6 has a completely different sound with the sports exhaust. Go for an Akra if you want a bonkers sound

If you go for air then you are stuck with air, no springs. I have DRC and still it butnwith lower springs. Interestingly, Luke at Plush was telling me that they can fit their air ride suspension and still retain the DRC.

A Milltek will get you close to the RS3 sound but clearly a 5 cylinder and 8 cylinder will always sound different. The RS3 has a very raw sound to it, reminds me of my old Chevy V8 but not as slow and lazy. It's loud but not shouting if that makes sense. But I'd still recommend chopping out the front and centre resonators and disconnecting the valves, huge improvement in volume and for very little money.

Yes glasgow audi, it has the carbon wing mirrors and interior but alu pack. Also matrix headlights dynamic steering sports diff. Yeah the rs3 sounds crazy but doesnt sound a crazy with power if you understand. When you rev the 6 you can tell it has serious power.
