De cat Exhaust

I know this has been covered many times but would like some good advice.

Currently running Audi Sports exhaust but I'm looking for a bit more noise.

Not going after market so was maybe looking to remove the middle silencer/cat???

Not to sure which but have seen a few comments on them being removed and straight pipe fitted.

One of my main questions would be is it easily re-instated as on PCP and worst case scenario would be going back to Audi next year?? Thanks in advance.

The cats are in the downpipes and cannot be seen from under the car. I wouldn't recommend removing these unless you have a remap done.
If it is just for noise then you can remove the front silencers (some people think these are cats but they are not), one in each branch. And also remove the centre silencer which is the box that both branches go into (but remain apart inside the box).
How easy to instate depends on how they are removed. If you tell the exhaust fabricator doing the work that you want them reinstated later then he should be able to put flanges on to help. Or just pick up a standard exhaust off here or ebay (they occaisonaly come up when people replace them for aftermarket). You could keep an eye open for one over the next year.

As Mike said. Front silencers and centre box Demand did mine £340 I wouldn't even bother about re fitting the sections as you can get a full cat back system for £200 and there are loads about QST alone have at least 10 sat around. Mines on PCP

If you can find a cheap non-sport exhaust you might be better off buying that and modyfing that instead as once the silencers are removed I think the 2 are the same. Then you can save your Sport exhaust for when you return the car.

For me it was a definite yes, similar sound to a Milltek, but not as loud. And only cost a few hundred quid.

Cheers, just contacted a local exhaust company and asked for a price. Is there a ball park which I should be looking at?

Mark has given his price above already. I paid £300 plus VAt so pretty much the same as above. But it depends on how they do it. Mine was done as 2 seperate removals i.e. cut out front bit and cut out centre bit seperately and put flanges on one of the section to make changing back easier (but oddly just welded the other bit out).

Depends on how much noise he wants. Resonator delete is a very good mod and gives similar sound and almost as much noise as a milltek. Even better when you consider how much more an aftermarket exhaust costs.
