Facelift differences

Post by longman h » Tue Feb 21, 2017 6:44 pm

So after looking around and trying to as much info as possible about the differences between pre facelift and facelift models, I've come to these conclusions;

- Facelift introduced in 2015
- Revised headlight design and Matrix LED lights with sweeping function as standard
- Rear lights have sweeping function
- Revised front bumper with slightly more angular features
- MMI upgrade with better graphics, ability to view maps in the DIS and can also accept 4G SIM cards
- Double glazing to the front windows as standard

Is there anything else to add?

Hopefully this might help others.

Matrix lights important one.
Alcantara door inserts.
Lower CO2 if you go for 21s
Plus multiple hidden tweaks and upgrades that make f/l faster, cooler, better handling, less likely to depreciate etc ;)

Alcantara door inserts were later, they weren't part of the first PI.

Cheers Mark. I should have explained that Matrix LED's are now standard so I've edited the above. :thumb:

If you search you'll find a scanned copy of the PI doc.

I don't understand why Audi don't offer the power upgrade to pre F/L owners. It must be just the map could be a good little earner an official warranty backed power up grade👍

What power upgrade? You make it sound like the facelift version has more power. I assume you don't mean the 605ps, as this is not offered to facelift cars either.

You mentioned MMI upgrade, this includes 4G SIM support.
Also worth noting that facelift cars made the switch to MOST150 which is not currently supported by the aftermarket hi-fi upgrade market so a pre-facelift car is much better for addiing decent quality amplifiers etc.

Also, with the MY2016 came FLAC support.
