Winter pressure

Post by Tadass910 » Tue Jan 10, 2017 4:27 pm

Hello, in summer I had front 3.00 bar and rear 2.8 bar now when winter came sometimes when I go to my garage I have lower pressure in my tires, for example front 2.8 and rear 2.6 shall I refill air that it would be 3.00 and 2.8 or do nothing? I know that while driving pressure rises, but as winter came and outside only +5 that causes pressure in my tires

Another question about wash fluids, is there some special fluid you guys using or any is okay? I was thinking to go to Audi and buy or anyfrom petroleum station fits?

thanks

In Summer I usually run the full load (5 persons) settings irrespective of actual load especially for Autobahn use. In the winter I usually drop these to the lower part load (3 persons) settings unless I actually carry a full load of course. The purpose of setting pressures cold to those recommended is to arrive at safe pressures whilst hot and as you say, the colder the ambient temp the lower the cold pressure will read.

For screen wash, I always use Autoglym Ultimate concentrate and dilute as they recommend to avoid freezing (1:9 summer and usually 1:4 for winter down to minus 6C). Fairly cheap at Halfords at the moment at under £3 for 500ml.

hope this helps

Thanks for reply, so shall I add more air to my tires, because now front 2.9 an rear 2.6, should be 3.00 front and 2.8 rear?
