New to Audi...advice please on C7, C6 & RS3 8VA

Hello,

New to the forum, so please be gentle :bigblink:

I'm looking at my next car, which i'm considering an Audi RS6 C7 MY14 Avant , RS6 C6 MY10 Saloon, RS3 8VA MY16.
Now whichever one I decide on i'd look at getting MTM tuned, the RS6's to early to 700bhp & the RS3 to 502bhp.

I would've considered a RS4 saloon, but the lack of real tuning or ability to tune puts me off.

This will be my first performance Audi, well any Audi, so have no idea of the running costs of these performance variants, so any information on service & running costs would be most welcome.
Has anyone used the MTM tuner QST in Sussex? Not sure if the RS6's have to go to Germany for modification/installation..!?

This will be a second car, garaged in winter months. So fare weather weekend, Euro runs & occasional track use, doing 5-6k miles per annum max.

I'm coming from a Nisan R35 GTR, which i'd owned for a number of years. Standard when I got it, but i'd tuned it to just over 600bhp.
Cracking drive & not ruling out going back, if I can't find the right Audi.

Cheers in advance
Iggy

The 8v is slower but handles better, more fun through the roundabouts (remembering the front wheel drive bias of the haldex though), the C7 is more fun on the straights, motorways etc). C7 also a nicer interior (more plush and spacier).

Read like an odd list for a weekend list!

I'd declare the RS6 as the easy winner... but a 2 ton estate as a 'fun' car? Surely you can be more imaginative...

Not an odd list for me.... Just fancy a bit of luxury performance. Coming from stiff suspension focused rally & track cars.
I really do fancy an RS6 C7, just for the sheer performance of the thing. But the RS3 tuned to over 500bhp does appeal to me for the A & B road blast!

Also on my list, apart from going R35 again! Is a M4 & a 911 997 Turbo AWD.

977? I think you mean 997.

However, I agree with the above, that's a pretty broad selection of cars in many shapes and sizes.

For the Euro runs the C7 for the track day fun the RS3. My C6 is MTM with QST 5mins up the road. I went for the MTM one for ease being so close but also the history of MTM association with Audi. It's not the highest bhp map or the highest torque map around but I believe the safest. I don't want my C6 to blow up just for a few extra bhp and torque.
The big plus for me was the knowledge the guys at QST have for our cars.

I also came from GTR R35 with around 750-800bhp (MENTAL CAR). I bought a new C7 RS6 had it for around 7-8 months and it just did not tick all the boxes for me. Sold it and bought 8P RS3 (thought I would go old skool and tune it to death) that lasted a month lol.

Now have a new S3 saloon I could not be happier. Does everything I need, being new the tech is great Virtual cockpit an all. Tuning has started its putting out around 360-370bhp and it pretty fast. next is big turbo etc for around 600bhp.

GTR was great but too extreme for every day use going to the shops, wife driving etc. The wee S3 does everything and more. cheap to buy, own and modify and if it does go bang cheap to fix. Maybe found a car I will actually keep!! It maybe looks a bit tame but I am ok with that.

Thanks for that guys, nice to hear from a previous R35 owner. Ruled out a tuned M4, handling reviews ain't that good!
