Are these the skinny winter wheels? If so I'd rather spend the money on a set of the wider 20" wheels or another set of 21s with winter tyres on. Both will suffice for a UK winter. I get the other member on here got the skinny wheels and tyres cos he lives on the continent and sees more snow, but for Uk I'd rather go for the better looking wheels. I doubt Audi would offer them for £2.5k but you can get some genuine ones from ebay for not far off that.

Don't buy the skinny ones - good in snow but they look awful.
Go for dished 20s that come standard on normal RS6 and fit 275 winter tyres.

I agree my man...I painted mine Panamera Grey though.
But you have some people on here that act like they are steel wheels.
To each is own anyway...

For winter I prefer narrow and cheaper, last year while skiing my car slid sideways into a curb while I was liretally going 20km/h...it was black ice covered with a thin layer of fresh snow.
I was on 275s and all I could do was just sit still while I wait for the car to hit it.
Both front and back right wheels were decently damaged and of course alignment was off, thankfully no serious damage to the suspension.
And here they put rocks and salt on the roads over most of the winter, so 99% of the time wheels are pretty covered with serious dirt anyway.

To be constantly worried about 21s over all of that...no thnx...more mental peace this way!
These were €640+VAT (with tires) for me so no brainer to replace if needed.

I think fair enough if you go skiing, or live in Scotland. But if you're down South, it is overkill - just get the regular 20" wheels.

And if you go for the gheyboy winter ones, don't post pictures - go and stand in the corner in shame instead.

Someone missed his weetabix this morning.

My Aston went skiing in Switzerland, my RS6 may go too but even in U.K. at 2 degrees winters are much better.

The car is almost unstoppable in snowy / icy conditions (within reason) on Sotto Zeros in 275/20 size. Don't know why you would need thinner tyres for even more traction - if the snow is that bad your splitter will be a snow plough :)
Never tried 285/21s but they cant be much worse.
Just don't depend on used sets - old winter tyres (particularly when under 4.5mm) don't work anywhere near as well. They seen to go off much quicker / earlier than summer varieties.

I'm running a set of genuine RS6 21" with Dunlop winters on and I paid 2k off eBay with the tyres which were virtually brand new. 20" just don't look right imo.

What ebay seller are you all getting these wheels from - nervous buying this type of thing at this price unless recommended.

Yeh i know and you have been kind enough to put links up for me before of examples but was looking for personal recommendations from forum users on top of the usual feedback rating.

I bought mine from Premium Wheels in Germany from eBay - excellent transaction. Delivered very quickly and well packaged. Current batch of RS6 winter wheels from their Shop...

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/premiumwheelsh ... 1&_nkw=RS6

Wheels (+RDK sensors) were perfect and tyres were all 6mm+ and in good condition. I'd actually wanted the standard deep dished 20" wheels but couldn't find any. Pulled the trigger on these and pretty pleased so far.

They ride well:
