Confused on different rolling road figures

Post by Rs63855 » Thu Dec 01, 2016 10:35 am

Guys after some info please

So after seeing many c7 rs6 claims getting around 600bhp stock! Why did mine only get 575bhp with full miltek turbo back and race plugs. ? Then had it staged 2 and we got 685bhp 740 torque. But on vbox it did 100kph-200kph in just 6.7 seconds witch the 750bhp tuned rs6's are getting. Confused to hell lol

I was told the company that did mine there machine is calibrated perfectly using lab equipment. Hence figures are what there ment to be. Hence why the stock cars They dyno are always really close to the claimed stock figures and never over more than 5-10bhp....

Any input on this guys?

If that's the case does that mean if I go to a different rolling road my car will be getting 730-750bhp only because there dyno won't be as accurate?

Unicorn developments mate. They have a really good reputation all guys recomend them on Audi-sport forum. I do trust his figures and he defo noes his stuff very well knowledged guy. But just want to see what people's thoughts on this is. If he wanted to he could of easily gived me false readings to make me more happy lol but he is a honest guy.

A dyno is a tool to measure the difference in power output when you change something in an engine.

Dyno to dyno their results do vary, any you can also fool many dynos to give the readings you want. I like dyno dynamics rolling roads, I have one local and the results are very repeatable (I can dyno the car 6 months apart and get results within a couple of bhp). I have used a hub dyno before as well, that particular one was much better for getting numbers to use down the pub (it read about 8% higher than the dyno dynamics), especially at the end of the session as it read significantly higher after 3 hours use (the same map measured 12bhp more after 3 hours mapping)!

there are so many factors which can influence the result of a dyno, temperature, air flow, how long the dyno has run for on that day, tyre pressure etc, the key is how the car feels on the road. Pretty sure you can use Vagcom to measure your flow and then calcualte from there the output, i cant remember the exact measure meant but its meant to be more accurate.

The maximum mass air flow will be about 80% of the BHP eg if you have a mass air flow of 400g/s this works out to be about 500bhp.
On the B7 Vag Com reads the air flow for only one bank so you have to double it. Probably the same for the C7.
Using a Bluetooth OBD dongle on the C7 I couldn't get the mass air flow data.

So a standard RS6 with 553 bhp should have a mass air flow of around 442g/s. A PE should see about 478g/s

To convert your maf figure to power divide by 0.8.

The 100-200 KMH time you quote is that from performance box? If Is.. is it verified and corrected time?

Just I know from much 100-200 testing how important certain details can be.
