After a few weeks...

After a few weeks getting to know the RS6 PE and its characteristics, I think that I need my geometry sorting out. The car is on air and has no mods over the PE standard list.

I know that the tyres are extra low profile, but I find the car tracks at the crown of the road when overtaking hard. I know that this has been mentioned in the torque steer thread, but it has caught me out on a few occasions where I've almost been sucked into the side of the car I'm passing, looking like a right tit. Also, the lane assist seems to want to fight me, even in a straight line, no matter what driving style setting is selected. The car just feels 'heavy' :bash: I also had a rather scary aquaplane situation last night. I wasn't gunning it, there wasn't a huge puddle (just surface water) and the TCS didn't kick in, but the car definitely skewed off centre suddenly.

Can anyone recommend a specialist in the south BH/SO postcode (Bournemouth, Christchurch, Salisbury, Poole, Southampton) who can get the geo checked and adjusted?

Thanks
Pete

Just had mine done and it fixed the problem you describe. The car is not very adjustable and any decent outfit can set it up to exact factory spec - something Audi seem unable to do.

I presume that there's a specific type of tracking that I should be asking for, and that price would be a good indication that I'm getting the right service?

Is it a Hunter full geometry for around £100 that I need to be asking for?

Yes hunter is the one to go for. Price will normally vary by how much adjustment they have to make.
Don't both taking it to kwik fit... what a waste of time!

Stick you postcode into this website to find your nearest Hunter centre:

Not that I even pretend to understand the numbers, but the car drives like I always expected it to.

It's so light in a straight line, whereas before I was fighting it.

No more heavy steering to go around a slight bend either.

Well done Shaun at Christchurch Tyre Co!

Right tyre pressures help too when running 550+ bhp ;)

Good point

However as the car is only a few weeks old, it hadn't even occurred to me to check the pressures...

My pressures were spot on from factory.
But my alignment was much worse (although I lowered it too).
But yes I found the car felt much lighter after the alignment.
