Either in the midlands/Warwickshire or London? Want to have a listen before making purchase or alternatively going down the custom route.

I have also posted a link on here somewhere of mine.

I had a centre section delete before and best way do describe the difference is the Akra has a higher pitch tone specially in the car, still very V8 sounding outside but with a bit more richness and tone. I run mine with the valves disconnected and it's still refined when cruising. You know it's there but never intrusive unless you accelerate :)

Both sound good

However and I am biased Milltek sounds much rawer for me

Each to their own though.

I prefer the Milltek too.

It's horses for courses I suppose. However, personally I think the Milltek sounds more savage. The Akrapovic systems have amazing build quality but milltek's also have a lifetime warranty for an original owner anyway. But when you consider that the Akra system is nearly 5 x the cost of the milltek, well, enough said.

For me the Akrapovic has far better tonal quality with aesthetics’ that improve upon the OEM system and are in keeping with the RS "velvet gloved, iron fist" methodology. The Miltek on the other hand, for me, is just an average system with an ASBO level of noise. One is affordable, the other is pull your pants down expensive. Your choice.

The main thing that put me off the Milltek is I have had several before and two out of the three the build quality was aweful. One never fitted properly, always knocked after a few hundred miles and the other started rattling inside. They all also sounded a bit monotone, no pitch increase as the revs go up. The first of them on a V8 R8 was fine. I just didn't want to risk one again on a brand new 90k car. The akra on the other hand is OEM quality, fitted by OEM manufacturers and soon to be Audi and has good resale vale if I sell the car later which to me justified the cost.

The akra is already a factory option on the RS6 Performance in Germany.
