Dropping, springs & Air

Am I right in assuming that air suspension can be dropped via VCDS, on pre FL cars?

And also has anybody changed the springs on air suspension?

There are no springs on air suspension.

Pre facelift cars can be lowered with VCDS by upto a recommended maximum of 17mm.
