After market Tyre Pressure Sensors?

Post by si_b » Fri Oct 28, 2016 3:47 pm

Does anyone have any experience of using after market tyre pressure sensors such as the pre-coded TPMS sensors available on flea-Bay? Do you need VCDS to make sure they sync with the MMI? Will they give you tyre temperature as well?

I'm looking at buying a set of winter wheels, but if I end up using standard valves, I don't want to be bothered with the system warning me that the TPMS isn't available or not working. I'd rather not turn the TPMS off completely either.

All seems too good to be true with sets on flea-Bay available for approx £170 incl P+P, but genuine ones costing £100's...

Not sure if the C7 has tyre pressure sensors now, is it not done off the rolling radius from the wheel speed sensor or something?

Sam, the C7 still has the proper sensors (with temperature reading too). The RS3 uses the ABS module as you mentioned above.
