Parted with £5,000 deposit, and so the long wait begins...

Think you will be lucky to get a March delivery, my order was placed 28th July and MyAudi is stating 'expected to begin construction on 13th February'. Panther black and has exclusive headlining, but don't this this has any bearing on it

March was indeed optimistic. I have just been informed of a week 18 (1st week in May to save the maths) build date. I guess I wouldn't expect to pick it up until June(?)

Not only will it be a long Winter, it'll be a long Spring too.

Ouch. C8 will likely be upon us in some form by then. And it'll be nobbled for the new road tax.

Bad timing I'm afraid. I ordered in December and collected in February.

Yup, although £1,360 over 6 years is at least less of a hit than a prospective MB C300 (hybrid) buyer. £0 to £2,370 over the same period.

As to the C8 - one could hang on forever waiting for the next new toy. I was tempted to wait for the (recently announced) E63, but unlikely I would have got the same discount (in any case, I prefer the old Audi to the new Merc'), and how long until a C8 RS6 appears? I know Audi, as with BMW and MB, are starting to see their respective high performance models as more mainstream but I can't see it hitting the showrooms for a few (2-3) years. The all-new V8 (Audi's last I've read) developed with Porsche is also very similar in spec to the current unit (for now), thankfully!

Tempted to ask the dealer if a change in colour might help, but I really like Nardo grey - even if it seems a bit 'common' lately, I've seen two in the last two days.

Panamera sporting brake shall be along shortly.....

C7s are pretty common now. There's two others down the road from me, see them pretty regularly now. Just highlights the change in business model.
