Brakes versus tyres.

Keen to see what life people are getting out of their tyres and brakes. Obviously depends on how you drive - and where you drive - but guess pad/disc to tyre ratio should allow for that a bit.

Have you changed your pads and discs? If so at what mileage? And what did you get out of a set of tyres?

Thanks

Did you have a C6 before Chris? How long did the brakes last on that?

I did yes

I honestly can't remember mate....but drive with a heavy right foot and you'll soon be emptying your wallet with these cars.

Also my C6 was lowered and they suffer from inside edge wear on the fronts due to camber not being that adjustable....so you've got to keep your eye on inners

I've just ticked over 19k miles after 14 months since new and have 4.5mm left on the original set of tyres.

19k. That is good going. Insides of mine are fine but outer edges went. I must stop going around corners :)
But most of my mileage is on twisty A and B roads. Getting geo checked with these new tyres though as factory settings not always what they should be.

4600 miles on my car and back 2 tyres and front left are at 4-4.5mm.

Front right was at 2mm and noticed lots of small chunks of tread missing from near the outside of the tread so I have just replaced that with a spare tyre I had that matches the other 3 give or take a mm or so.I know there's an extra 80kg over the front right with drivers weight but Jesus, down to 2mm after only 4600 miles is bonkers. I've had the car professionally wheel aligned too, perhaps just a dodgy tyre.

I reckon i'll get to 8000m before needing all 4 done, the joys of a 2t fast car.

Brakes are fine though, plenty of meat left in the pads and discs, easy 20k + I would say.

I suppose i better check mine then... 8k in. Used an A5 diesel as my daily before and it didn't use any brakes/tyres/oil at all.
